Community Pre-Vocational

Service that assists individuals in developing work readiness skills.

 

Service goal is to teach skills in order to prepare individuals to successfully obtain and retain a job in a Supported Employment program

 

CPV Program Highlights

Paid job training at one of our two Bottle and Can Redemption Center’s -Empties for Empower and the Empower Grab-N-Go Cart located at the Fashion Outlet Mall

 

Job training may include:

• Counting and sorting cans

• Customer service skills

• Money handling 

• Punctuality

• Team work

• Appropriate social skills in a work setting 

• Accepting supervision 

• Problem solving

  

Eligibility Requirements

• Have an Intellectual and/or Developmental Disability (Mental Retardation, Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy (CP), Autism, Neurological Disorder) diagnosed before the age of 22.

• Enrollment in the Home and Community Based Waiver (HCBS) 

• Have a Care Coordinator

• Have Medicaid or Medicaid Eligible 

• Have Motivation to Work
